“ Farmgirl Fibers & Arts is a special business creating special products. All my yarns are handspun in Sterling, Alaska. I live on a hobby farm named The Sterling Garden Farm. We raise Icelandic sheep and each of these yarns are shorn off our very own animals. My name is Callie; I am 15 and spinning is a favorite pastime. I do the whole process myself, except for shearing. ( I am still learning) I take care of the sheep, and after they are sheared I wash the wool, dry the wool, pick the wool, fluff the wool, card the wool, spin the wool, soak the yarns, then tag the yarns. I hope you enjoy these yarns that I worked so hard to make. But of course, I couldn’t have done it without my flock of beautiful sheep. FUN FACTS: Did you know that Icelandic sheep are the purest breed of sheep in the world? My flock has a fun theme going. We name them after people from The Sound of Music and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Names are so much fun!”
